To discuss the meaningful use of qualitative checklists to ensure quality in pharmacy practice research



The workshop will review two common reporting guidelines (SRQR and COREQ) which aim to enhance the quality of qualitative health research. Presenters will provide an overview of recent social pharmacy qualitative literature. Potential areas of strengths and weakness in qualititive social pharmacy research will be presented and discused. The goal of the workshop is produce a discussion document on the quality of qualitative research social pharmacy research.


This workshop will combine a lecture, small and large group discussion, and electronic ballot (using Google Forms so no additional equipement required).


30 minute: Introduction, review of guidelines, and exemplars in pharmacy practice literature.

10 minute: Large group brainstorming on key issues

25 minutes: Small group discussion to define and refine the quality issues

15 minutes: Present small group findings

5 minutes:  Use electronic ballot to rank the priorities facing qualitative research in pharmacy practice research

5 minutes: Wrap up
